NBI Followup – Part 2
I thought I would check up on my fellow newbie bloggers who participated in Syp’s Newbie Blogger Initiative.Last time I checked of the 109 participants over half were active, either posting very often of at least semi often (bi-weekly). I went through and checked up on all though sites and as surprising number (41) were very active and (16) semi-active. That is still over half of the participants who are still going strong.
I am not sure how this fares compared to other initiatives from other times but I think this was arousing success. I would once again like to thank Syp for setting this up and for the helpful articles from all the sponsors.
Here is the updated list of all the participants along with their current status.
NBI Follow Up
Back in May Syp of Bio-Break arranged a program for new bloggers. He got a bunch of bloggers to agree on posting articles on how to blog, set up a website or just to answer question from newbie bloggers on the forums.
I have pages with links for all the Sponsors and Newbies who signed up. It was bit of a surprise to see how many people participated. At last count there were 92 Sponsors and 109 Newbie bloggers. Strange as it may sound a few are actually listed in both and many of the Newbies posted help and tips articles as well.
For a list of the bloggers participating sorted by type, check out this list or here for the list of sponsor articles.
FlizBleu over at MMO Compendium also posted some interesting numbers at the half way mark.
I got curious and went back and checkout my list of Newbie bloggers to see how many were still active.
109 Newbie Bloggers
22 Never posted after signing up or never made it through May
28 Showing signs of life eith by posting in last 2 weeks or mentioning an extended absence
59 Active and in some cases very active bloggers, still going strong.
I think this means it was a rousing success where better than half are regular posters and another 1/3 may post intermittantly or on planned absences but will return.
NBI Finale
Back on the 1st of May, I saw a message scrolling through my twitter feed by one of the WoW Twitter folks about this interesting event they were participating in called the Newbie Blogger Initiative with a link to a forum set up for it. I had tried my hand at blogging awhile back (’09) but didn’t [...]
